The 1949 New York Yankees, anchored by Hall of Famers such as Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra, won the franchise’s 12th World Series in five games over the Brooklyn Dodgers. The 1949 team started a run of five straight World Series championships for the Bronx Bombers. This remarkable Official American League William Harridge baseball features the signatures of 27 greats from that special 1949 Yankees team.

Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio signed his name on the sweet spot in blue pen. The east panel has the blue pen signatures of Jim Turner (clubhouse), Vic Raschi, Hank Bauer, Cliff Mapes and Frank Crosetti. The west panel has Hall of Famer Johnny Mize, Tommy Byrne, John Lindell, Duane Pillette, Fred Sanford and Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto. The north panel has Gene Woodling, Ralph Buxton, Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, Charlie Silvera, Allie Reynolds, Gus Niarhos and Hall of Famer Bill Dickey (clubhouse). The south panel has Joe Page, Jerry Coleman, Cuddles Marshall, Billy Johnson, Charlie Keller, George Stirnweiss and Bobby Brown (future American League President). The sweet spot has a clubhouse signature of Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel. This ball displays light toning with clear signatures and it comes with a LOA from JSA. Please note that the signatures of Casey Stengel, Jim Turner and Bill Dickey have been deemed clubhouse versions by JSA.
