Offered in this lot are two Official American League Gene A. Budig baseballs signed by the 1996 Rookie of the Year and Class of 2020 Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. Jeter hit .314 with 10 homers and 78 RBI during his rookie season, leading the Yankees to a World Series victory over the Atlanta Braves in the Fall Classic. Jeter would go on to make 14 All-Star teams and collect 3,465 hits in his Hall of Fame career. Jeter has signed the sweet spot of both of these baseballs in black pen, inscribing “ROY” below his signature. The balls are numbered 52 and 78 of 1996. These baseballs feature a commemorative Jeter Rookie of the Year stamp and come with two LOAs from JSA.
