Pete Rose played in 107 games for the Phillies during the strike-shortened 1981 MLB season – but he made them count - leading all of baseball with 140 hits, driving in 33 runs while scoring 73 and batting .325. Rose made the National League All-Star team in 1981, leading the Phillies to a 59-48 record and an appearance in the postseason against the Montreal Expos. He also reached the milestone of passing Stan Musial as the all-time hit leader in the National League. This was the next to last hurdle Rose would have to pass before he reached Ty Cobb’s all-time career hits record. Pete’s 1981 Mizuno R3631 model bat displays moderate use with a crack on the handle. The barrel shows ball marks and Rose’s number “14” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. The Hit King has boldly signed the barrel in black marker. Please note that there is a slight blemish on the “Pete” part of the signature. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19194) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 10, plus a LOA from JSA for the signature.
