Hall of Fame second baseman Rogers Hornsby was a two-time Triple Crown winner, collected seven batting titles and two National League MVP awards. Few second basemen of any era can match Hornsby’s accomplishments, which include 301 home runs and the second highest batting average (.358) of all-time. Hornsby cleared the .400 mark in batting average three times, including in 1924, when he hit for an almost unbelievable .424 average. In 1926, as the player-manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, Hornsby led the team to a World Series championship.

Throughout most of his later playing career, Hornsby was also a manager, which started in 1925 until he retired as a player in 1937. Horsby continued to manage and coach through much of his post career and used this Hillerich & Bradsby H117 model bat circa 1955. This bat displays heavy game use with a crack on the back barrel. The crack on the barrel has an approximate 8 x 1 ½ -inch piece missing. A great post-career used bat from one of the great players and figures in baseball history. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19206).
