Seattle Mariners All-Star shortstop Alex Rodriguez wore this navy and teal Mariners cap in the 1996-97 era. Rodriguez, age 20, played his first full season in 1996, winning the MLB batting crown with a .348 average while posting otherworldly numbers of 36 homers, 143 RBI, and a MLB-best 54 doubles. Rodriguez made his first All-Star team in 1996 and finished second in the American League MVP race despite finishing the season with a bWAR of 9.4, compared to the 3.8 bWAR value of MVP-winner Juan Gonzalez. In 1997, Rodriguez posted a Triple Crown slash line of .300/23/84 as the young infielder made his second consecutive American League All-Star team.
