Since the introduction of interleague play to the Major League schedule in 1997, the former geographic rival Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves have posted a nearly .500 record against each other with the Braves holding a slight 26 to 24 advantage. This 2004 Original Hollywood Jack Corbett/Schutt Sports, Atlanta Braves game used base with Major League Baseball American Flag [I Live For This] Baseball Salutes America logo was signed by four members of the 2004 World Series Champion Red Sox following one of their contests sometime after the Red Sox World Series victory as evidenced Red Sox owner John Henry’s signature in bold green Sharpie with an added “2004 World Champs!!” inscription. Red Sox hitting coach Ron Jackson also signed the base with the same green Sharpie adding “Hitting Coach World Champion Boston Red Sox #22” and it is again signed in green by Red Sox infielder Mark Bellhorn with a #12 inscription. Red Sox manager Terry Francona signed in bold black Sharpie on the side of the base containing an [I Live For This] logo. The base is covered with dirt stains and has Atlanta Braves, MLB and Major League Baseball American Flag [I Live For This] Baseball Salutes America logo on its remaining three sides. Base is tagged with MLB Authentics hologram sticker (#MT00431292).
