Boston Red Sox slugger JD Martinez is one of the premier power hitters in the game and was instrumental in leading the Red Sox to their fourth World Series title of the 21st century in 2018. In 2017, Martinez started his season with the Detroit Tigers before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks to finish out the season.

Offered here is a home white Detroit Tigers button-down jersey worn by Martinez during the beginning part of the 2017 season. This size 48 Majestic Flex Base jersey has the Tigers Olde English “D” sewn on the upper left chest in navy tackle twill. Navy piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and the Majestic size 48 tag is screen-printed on the left front tail with “JSG” handwritten in black, a common marker for Tigers gamers from clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel. There is an additional Majestic tag screen-printed vertically on the center tail that reads “#28 2017 48 198”. The back of the jersey has “J.D. MARTINEZ” and “28” sewn on in navy tackle twill, with an MLB logo patch in navy and white sewn on the upper back neck. The right sleeve has a black circle patch with “Mr. I” in memory of long-time Tigers’ owner Mike Illich, who passed away in February of 2017.
