The inimitable Wayne Gretzky wore this St. Louis Blue Winter Classic Alumni Game jersey on December 31st, 2016, against a team of Chicago Blackhawks alumni before January 2nd’s Winter Classic event. Gretzky led the Blues to an entertaining 8-7 victory with more than 40,000 fans packed into the frigid Busch Stadium. The Blues carried the Alumni Game momentum into the real thing, beating Chicago 4-1 behind a pair of Vladimir Tarasenko goals before Alexander Steen’s empty-netter iced the game.

This offered St. Louis Blues home jersey is white, with Gretzky’s iconic number “99” sewn on the back and sleeves in blue and yellow tackle twill. A large Blues logo patch and a captain’s “C” patch are sewn on the chest, while “GRETZKY” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill over a matching white nameplate. A 2017 Alumni Game patch is sewn on the right sleeve. A CCM tag with an attached size “XL” flag is sewn on the back inside collar. Gretzky has signed the first “9” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker. The jersey comes with a LOA from the MeiGray Group, who have authenticated this jersey and photo matched it to the third period of the Alumni Game and have provided the image numbers in their LOA.
