The Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera has signed and heavily inscribed this 2009 World Series framed metallic photograph. A key figure for the Yankees in their 2009 title run, Rivera pitched in four games against the Philadelphia Phillies, recording saves in Games 2 and 4. Rivera did not allow a single run, earned or unearned, in his 5.1 innings of work, capped off by a dominant 1.2 inning outing to close out Game 6 and clinch the Yankees’ 27th World Series title.
Rivera has inscribed “This one was special. It was a drought of nine years and we finally got one. I’ve been blessed because I have been able to play for all these years. Derek, Andy, Jorge, and I had done almost everything together. We had been through so much and we finally got number 5 together. I was trying to get that last out. What was going through my mind was, it’s finally over. We were back.” above a large example of his artful signature. Below his signature, Rivera inscribed “5x W.S Champs”. The unanimous Hall of Famer is mid-pitch in his pinstriped home whites. The photograph is displayed in a 16 x 20-inch frame and comes with a Steiner Sports COA.
