Former New York Ranger Jean Ratelle had a career season in 1971-72 when he scored a career-highs in goals (46), assists (63) and points (109) and was the recipient of the Lady Byng Award and Pearson Award. For his efforts and excellence Ratelle was awarded this “Frank Boucher Trophy” by the New York Rangers Fan Club for being the “Most Popular Ranger”. This impressive trophy has a wood base with four gold-colored columns holding an additional wood base with a silver bowl that has a hockey player on the top. “JEAN RATELLE 1971-1972” is etched on the gold plate that is mounted on the wood base. The silver bowl has etched “THE FRANK BOUCHER TROPHY AWARDED ANNUALLY BY THE NEW YORK RANGERS FAN CLUB TO THE MOST POPULAR RANGER PLAYER ON AND OFF THE ICE”.
