Offered here is a six-inch Megalodon tooth that has been dated to approximately 3.6 million years. The Megalodon was a giant shark that ruled the warm water seas during the Neogene Period. The Megalodon was the largest prehistoric carnivorous shark that ever inhabited the oceans. Megalodon literally means “big tooth” and it estimated they grew to over 60 feet long – 3 times the length of an average great white shark. This piece is an incredible find and one of the oldest living artifacts.
