Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson have been credited with elevating the NBA to the status that it is today. Bird and Magic both joined the NBA at the start of the 1979-80 season and combined to win eight titles for the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. Jordan came into the league in 1984 and brought a new aerial attack that had not been seen. Jordan and the Chicago Bulls took over the league from the Celtics and Lakers in the 1990’s, winning six titles in eight seasons and cementing this trio as three of the greatest basketball players of all-time.
