The legendary slugger and sure-fire Hall of Famer Albert Pujols began his career on April 3, 2001 when the St. Louis Cardinals visited the Colorado Rockies for Opening Day. The Rockies won the game 8-0 behind the pitching of Mike Hampton, who tossed 8.1 innings, allowing no runs and five hits. One of those five hits came from Pujols, for his first career major league hit. Pujols would eventually win the National League Rookie of the Year this season. This offered Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball has special red stampings and was used during the April 3, 2001 game. The ball displays excellent game use with dirt and rub marks, along with a noticeable abrasion mark on the side panel. A “2001” MLB logo stamp is on the side panel. This ball has been signed by Mike Hampton in blue pen across the sweet spot and has the inscription “10”. This comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (AR038263), who authenticate that Hampton signed this ball at a Mounted Memories event and that this was an “Game Ball Opening Day”, along with a STICKER ONLY from Mounted Memories.
