Winner of three Emmy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series, as well as two SAG Awards as a member of an ensemble cast, Gandolfini’s nine-year run on the Soprano’s is among the most impressive in television drama history. The beloved actor died suddenly of cardiac arrest while on vacation in Rome, Italy on June 13, 2013 but left behind a lasting legacy of work most prominently defined by his role as Tony Soprano.
