Uruguay’s 1950 FIFA World Cup hero Alcides Ghiggia was presented with this CONMEBOL 80th Anniversary medal in 1996 to honor the South American soccer federation. Etched in high-relief on the front of this gold-colored medal is the CONMEBOL logo. The back of the medal features a high relief etching of “Confederacion Sudamericana De Futbol”, “Fundada en 1916”, and “80 Aniversario 1916-1996”. This medal comes in the original CONMEBOL presentation box. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
