Ted Williams spent his entire 19-year, Hall of Fame career patrolling left field in Fenway Park. The last .400 hitter in the major leagues, Williams slugged 521 homeruns and finished with a career batting average of .344. This lithograph of a 1960 painting by Jim Dobbins portrays the "Splendid Splinter" during his final season leaning against the Big Green Monster of Fenway Park between the "315" and scoreboard. Titled "Changing Pitchers Break at Fenway" Williams signed the lithograph just above his likeness in bold, vivid black Sharpie (grade 10). The signatures have been authenticated by Green Diamond Sports, Inc. and comes with a COA and official hologram (ref. #4571), signed by Claudia Williams, Ted's daughter and VP of GDS. The lithograph measures 16" x 12" and is matted white. "Teddy Ballgame" has been written in the matting in the upper left. In the lower right, artist Jim Dobbins has signed and numbered the respective item (of 5000 total reproductions). The black wood frame measures 22" x 18" and includes a half-inch black matting. Ten identical lithographs, signed by Williams and authenticated by GDS are included in this lot.
