Houston Astros second baseman and 2017 American League MVP Jose Altuve wore this gray Astros road jersey during Game 5 of the historic 2019 World Series. In a series where the road team won all seven games, Altuve and the Astros rolled into Washington D.C. for a pivotal fifth game against Joe Ross and the Nationals. Behind an impeccable Gerrit Cole start, Altuve and the Astros claimed a decisive 7-1 victory, with Altuve contributing a third inning single to the Astros’ winning cause. Unfortunately for Houston, Washington engineered an incredible comeback from a three-games-to-one deficit to win the Commissioner’s Trophy after an emotional 6-2 win in Houston in Game 7.
This offered Astros road jersey is a gray button-down, with “HOUSTON” sewn across the chest in navy and orange tackle twill. Altuve’s number “27” is sewn on the chest and back in navy and orange tackle twill, while “ALTUVE” is sewn across the back shoulders in the same fashion. An Astros logo patch and a Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve, while a 2019 World Series patch is sewn on the right. A Majestic size “42” tag is applied to the front left tail. The side panels and back tail of this jersey are constructed of a gray mesh fabric. Navy piping accents the chest and sleeves. This jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (VS058427).
