Offered in this lot is a rare pair of Adidas “The Kobe” sunshine-colored developmental sample sneakers. “The Kobe” made its on court debut in the 2000 NBA season, with the Los Angeles Lakers guard wearing the sneakers as the Lakers beat the Indiana Pacers in a six-game NBA Finals. The former Lower Merion High School star even wore “The Kobe’s” after the release of the Kobe II due to the comfort and security provided by the original Adidas kicks. These yellow and black sneakers feature an Adidas factory tag stating the shoes were manufactured on November 8th, 1999.
