After the 2002 season, Kobe Bryant reshaped the NBA sneaker landscape by ditching his previous company Adidas and joining the footwear behemoth Nike. Bryant, disappointed by Adidas’ Kobe II offering, became one of the NBA’s most popular sneaker merchants after his switch to the Oregon-based company. Offered in this lot is a pair of unreleased Kobe PS Option 2 white colorway sneakers dating to April of 2002. These sneakers were likely a design of Adidas’ flagship shoe for Bryant to wear in the 2002-03 NBA season due to their mid-April manufacture. The all-white shoes feature a custom Kobe Bryant applique on the heel. Attached to the sneakers is an Adidas sample tag stating a manufacture date of April 16th, 2002.
