The 1983 Baltimore Orioles dominated the American League Eastern Division with a 98-64 record and then knocked off the 99-win Chicago White Sox in four games of the best-of-five series in the ALCS and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in five games to win the World Series title, the franchise’s first title since 1970 and the only World Series title in the Hall of Fame career of Cal Ripken, Jr.

Offered here is the Balfour 10K-gold, size 13 ¾ ring issued to scout and former player Bill Werle. It features flashy raised lettering of "ORIOLES" surrounded by 60 points of diamonds. “WORLD CHAMPIONS” surrounds the outside in raised relief, with “19” on the left side and “83” on the right, both recessed in black. One shank has “WERLE” in raised relief with an image of the World Series trophy in gold below. The opposite shank has “1983 WORLD SERIES” and the swinging Oriole logo, both in raised gold relief. The inside band has the 10K engraving, along with “LGB” and the “UR” in Balfour and the ©. The ring weighs approximately 29 grams.
