Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza wore this chest protector, facemask and shin guards circa the 1997 MLB season. Piazza had a career year with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1997, hitting .362 with 40 homers and 124 RBI as he finished second in the National League MVP race. Piazza was named to one of his 12 National League All-Star teams in 1997, his final full season with the Dodgers.

This offered Rawlings facemask is made of gray metal with tan leather head pads and black straps. The red Rawlings logo strip is sewn on the black strap and the Rawlings logo is embroidered in white on the same strap. Also included is Piazza’s gray Rawlings chest protector. The red Rawlings logo strip is sewn on the upper chest Finally, two shin guards are offered. They are all-gray and display excellent use. Each display solid game use with consistent abrasion marks on the knees and along the outsides. The Rawlings’ wordmark logos are applied in gold above the shins and the Rawlings logos are applied in black on the shoe-top protectors. There are four gray straps on each guard, one on the upper knee/thigh, one on the lower knee, one on the upper shin and one on the lower shin area. This entire lot comes with a LOA from J.T. Sports and 100% Authentic for the game use. Additionally, there is a letter of provenance from Ronald Fukushima, President of California Sports Investments, who states in his letter that he obtained this equipment from a Dodgers’ representative.
