Coming off his 2011 American League Cy Young Award, former Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander followed that up with another strong season as the Tigers’ ace going 17-8 with a 2.64 ERA and a league-leading six complete games. Verlander also led the American League in innings pitched with 238.1 and strikeouts with 239 as he finished second in the AL Cy Young Award vote and led his Tigers to the American League pennant and a World Series appearance. Verlander continued his dominance during the 2012 postseason as he shut down the Texas Rangers and Oakland A’s in the Division Series and League Championship Series respectively and was the starter for Game 1 of the 2012 World Series against the San Francisco Giants.

Verlander wore this road gray Detroit Tigers size 48 Majestic Cool Base road gray button-down jersey during Game 1 of the 2012 World Series. Verlander pitched four innings, striking out four as this jersey features “Detroit” scripted diagonally across the front in sewn-on navy, orange and white tackle twill. Verlander’s number “35” is sewn on below on the left-center chest in the same navy, orange and white tackle twill. Navy piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and the Majestic tag is screen-printed on the front left tail, with a white team patch sewn on below that reads “35 48 ’12 967”. The back of the jersey has “VERLANDER” and “35” sewn on in navy, orange and white tackle twill with the MLB logo patch sewn on in navy, white and orange on the outside back collar above the piping. The right sleeve has the “2012 WORLD SERIES” logo patch sewn on a “COOL BASE” flag is sewn on the lower left side seam. This jersey shows excellent use and comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK350352), authenticating that Verlander wore this jersey during Game 1 of the 2012 World Series played on October 24, 2012.
