No player in history has donned the Yankee uniform more times than 'The Captain,' Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. One of the most popular players the game has ever seen, Derek Jeter finished his career as the Yankees' all-time career leader in games played, hits, doubles, stolen bases, times on base, plate appearances and at bats. In 2011, Jeter became the 28th player in MLB history to reach 3,000 hits with a home run off David Price at Yankee Stadium. Jeter finished his career sixth overall in all-time career hits and the all-time MLB leader in hits by a shortstop.

2013 was the penultimate season in Jeter’s storied career. Although he was limited to only 17 games, still managed to hit a home run on the first pitch he saw during the July 28th game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Jeter had previously played in one game on July 11th before returning to the lineup on July 28th.

Offered here is the glove Jeter used during the 2013 season. As would be expected from playing in only 17 games, this Rawlings Pro DJ2 model glove displays light game use with the pocket and web face displaying even wear. There is welting on the back of the fingers that have a brownish tint from infield dirt. The glove is 11 ½ inches and is made of Rawlings top grade black dyed U.S. Steerhide that is bound with tanned rawhide laces and nylon stitching. The glove has a fleece-lined conventional back with an adjustable wrist strap and a “Basket Web”. The red Rawlings label is stitched on the back wrist and the Rawlings “R” is on the back index finger in red with white embroidery. “Derek Jeter” is embroidered in white along the outside thumb and “THE GOLD GLOVE COMPANY” strip tag is on the back of the pinky finger sleeve in silver. A great glove from one of the premier shortstops in baseball history. This glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00621) for the game use.
