St. Louis Cardinals flamethrower Jordan Hicks quickly earned his reputation as one of the hardest throwers in the Major Leagues with a breakout 2018 rookie season. Hicks routinely touches triple-digits on the radar gun, averaging 100.5 and 100.4 miles per hour on his four-seamer and sinker, respectively, in his rookie season. On May 20th, during a contest against the Philadelphia Phillies at Busch Stadium, Hicks threw a 105.1 mile per hour heater in an at-bat against Odubel Herrera, with the Phillies centerfielder bravely making foul contact with the laser-guided pitch. This was the fastest strike in recorded Major League history. Unlike other legendary flamethrowers like Steve Dalkowski or a young Nolan Ryan, Hicks is able to meld his rapid pitch speed with impeccable control with 20 saves and a 3.47 ERA across his first two MLB seasons.

This offered Official Major League Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseball is in excellent condition. It displays consistent wear across all panels. Manfred’s signature is stamped in blue text on the opposite panel from the sweet spot. The ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD285420) dating its use to the historic game.
