The 2017 season was supposed to be a rebuilding season for the most storied franchise in baseball history – the New York Yankees. With veteran players at the end of their expiring and expensive contracts, the Yankees were building for the future. Fortunately, for the Yankees, the message didn’t get to rookie sensation Aaron Judge. In what may be considered the greatest rookie season of all-time, Judge set a then-Major League rookie single-season home run total – 52, which also led the American League. Judge was narrowly edged out for AL MVP by Jose Altuve.

Not only were Judge and the Yankees not in rebuilding mode, they made the playoffs as a Wild Card and were within one game of reaching the World Series – losing out to the eventual champion Houston Astros. Offered is the very jersey worn by Judge for his first career multi-home run game on April 28th, 2017 against the Baltimore Orioles. Judge blasted two home runs off of O’s pitcher Kevin Gausman – one in the fifth inning and one in the sixth inning in the Yankees 14-11 win. This jersey has also been photo matched to three additional games – April 17, April 18 and April 19. During the Yankees 9-1 victory on April 19th, Judge hit an estimated 451-foot home run. In the four games Judge wore this jersey, he combined to go 6-for-15 with 4 home runs and 7 RBI.

As expected with a player the size of Judge, this Majestic FlexBase button-down home white with pinstripes jersey is a size 52. The iconic interlocking “NY” is sewn on in navy tackle twill on the upper left chest. Judge’s “99” is sewn on the back of the jersey in the same navy tackle twill. A vinyl MLB logo patch in navy blue, white and gray is sewn on the upper back neck. The bottom front left tail has the screen-printed Majestic size 52 FlexBase tag. Below the Majestic tag is a New York Yankees barcode tag (0000007632) and vertically along the buttons is an additional Majestic screen-printed tag that reads "2017 52T +2 B". As with the new FlexBase models, a white mesh section is attached to the bottom back tail. The jersey displays heavy game use with two large dirt stains on the front and comes with a full LOA from Steiner Sports (246008) and an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB72720) authenticating that Judge wore this jersey for the April 28th game. There is also a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426795), who have photo matched this jersey to the four aforementioned games where he hit four home runs.
