With the second most World Series victories following the New York Yankees, the St. Louis Cardinals won their 11th World Series in 2011 after a dramatic come-from-behind 11-inning victory, over the Texas Rangers in Game Six to stave off elimination. Hometown hero David Freese won the Series MVP Award, knocking a game-winning walk off home run in Game Six and drove in a team-leading seven runs in seven games. Albert Pujols went 6 for 33 in the series with 3 home runs and 6 RBI for the title-winning Cardinals.

Pujols used this offered Marucci AP5-M model bat during Games 1 & 2 of the 2011 World Series. In those two games, Pujols went 0-2 in Game 1 as he drew a walk and scored a run in the Cardinals’ 3-2 victory at Busch Stadium and was hitless in four plate appearances in Game 2 as the Rangers rebounded with a 2-1 victory to even the series. This bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and white leather scuffs prevalent on the back barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel area and the knob has “5” stamped, along with bat’s date of manufacture “8/27/11” and the length “4” and weight “2”.           

This bat comes with a LOA from Resolution Photomatching, who have conclusively photo matched this bat to Game 1 of the 2011 World Series on October 19th and a likely match for Game 2 played on October 20th. There is also a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03031) for the game use and has been graded its highest grade of GU 10, plus an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ766016), who authenticate that this bat was collected from Pujols after Game 2 of the 2011 World Series and the “player indicates bat was used for game #2 2011 World Series”.
