Perhaps no other piece of sports memorabilia is more coveted than a Babe Ruth single-signed baseball. Be it that he was the greatest ball player of all-time, or that his personality was as grandiose as his talent or that his flawless scrip signature just looks right on the sweet spot of a ball, a Babe Ruth signed ball is the cornerstone of any advanced collection. The one we offer here is a particularly attractive example.
The Bambino penned his distinctive “Babe Ruth” signature across the sweet spot of this Official National League John Heydler stamped baseball in black fountain pen. Based on the stampings, the ball itself can be dated between 1928-1933 for when it was manufactured. Ruth’s signature is bold and nicely centered on the sweet spot of this cream-colored orb. The stampings on this ball included the “Official National League REG U.S. PAT. OFF Cushioned Cork Center” on the opposite sweet spot, “9 IN. 5 OZ. PAT’D No. 1,530.410 HORSE HIDE COVER SPALDING No. 1” on the side panel, the Spalding logo stamp on another panel and John Heydler’s stamped signature in red on the another panel. This ball displays beautifully and would be a welcomed addition to any serious collector’s collection. This comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the signature.
