His statistics and accolades are too numerous to mention – the name Michael Jordan quite simply resides among the most elite of sports legends. Before winning six titles in eight seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan quickly established himself as the premier scorer in the league that still included the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

During the 1986-87, his third in the league, Jordan for the first time led the NBA in scoring with a career-high 37.1 points per game average. Jordan would go on to win every ensuing scoring title in every full season he would play for the Bulls (save for the “I’m Back” 1995 return after his 1993 retirement). Jordan’s dominance also ushered in a new era of advertising as Jordan became the most marketed athlete of his generation.

This MacGregor Sand-Knit white mesh jersey was worn by His Airness during the 1986-87 season. “BULLS” along with the iconic “23” are pressed in appliqué on front in red with black trim, with the collar and arms trimmed in red, white and black. His name, which is printed in red letters only, is on the reverse above his number that is screen-printed in black with red borders. The Sand-Knit size 44 tag, along with the “Designed and Tailored Exclusively for the CHICAGO BULLS” and a “2”LB” tag are sewn on the front left tail. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest and this jersey shows moderate use, along with toning due to age. This impressive jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (308537) for the game use and have given their highest grade of A10. A truly amazing keepsake from the early days of Jordan’s historic career where he set a career-high in points per game.
