Included in this lot are an unopened MacGregor baseball and a Spalding baseball with opened box. The MacGregor black, orange, and white box is in great condition with minimal stains, while “official B77C League” is printed on one side of the box. The opened Spalding box is also in good shape with few, if any stains, while the box is white, blue and red, with a yellow trim. Printed on the box is “NO. 1 Official National League baseball cushioned cork center." Also printed on the back of the box is a message from then National League President Warren Giles: “I hereby certify that Spalding’s Official National League ball has been the adopted and the only official ball of the National League since 1878. This ball must be used in all championship games.”
