Controversial Commissioner of Baseball from 1969 to 1983, lawyer Bowie Kent Kuhn served as legal counsel to MLB for nearly two decades prior to his election to the commissioner’s office. Although his tenure was marked by two work stoppages (1972 and 1981) Kuhn presided over period of increasing interest in MLB and an unprecedented rise in attendance, from 23 million in 1968 to 45.5 million in 1983. This off-white Official AL Lee MacPhail ball is signed on the sweet spot by Kuhn in blue ball point pen grading a (“8”) and comes with PSA/DNA Cert # P16202.
