Bill Terry was the last National League player to hit over .400, clubbing 254 hits in 1930 to finish with a .401 batting average. After he finished playing, Terry managed his New York Giants to three NL Pennants and one World Series Championship in 1933 as player/manager. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1954.
