Mickey Mantle earned his first of two consecutive MVP Awards in 1956. As he geared up for the '57 season, which would become his second (of 3 total) MVP seasons, Mantle was caught sprinting across the outfield grass in spring training. This March 4, 1957 edition is titled "1957 Spring Training" and the headline is "The Real Mickey Mantle/By Gerald Holland." Mantle signed the cover across the center in bold blue Sharpie.
