In the team’s 16th season since joining the NHL, the 1941-42 New York Rangers finished first in the seven-team circuit but lost to the second-place Toronto Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup semi-finals. Hall of Famers Bryan Hextall and Lynn Patrick led the team respectively in points (56) and goals (32). The 17 charcoal-pencil signatures on the back of the mounted and framed team photo include Hextall and Patrick as fellow Hall of Famers; Lester Patrick, Neal Colville, Clint Smith, and Frank Boucher and also contains; Grant Warwick, Norman Tustin, Phil Watson, Mac Colville, Jim Henry, Alex Shibicky, Ott Heller, Alf Pike and Bill Juzda.
