What began with a performance at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, Italy in July 1990 swept the world for the next decade and a half. The harmonized force and beauty of the voices of Spanish tenors Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti held audiences in thrall. This 24” x 31.5” Leroy Neiman poster of the Three Tenors’ 1996 – 97 concert series has been signed by each of the singers, Neiman and James Levine, the Metropolitan Opera’s long-time conductor, who accompanied the trio during this series. Domingo and Carreras have boldly signed in black Sharpie above their likenesses (grade 10). Pavarotti signed on the white border below his likeness in vivid blue Sharpie (grade 10). Levine signed in vivid black Sharpie to the left of Pavarotti (grade 10), and Neiman signed in the lower right corner, in bold blue Sharpie (grade 10). The poster is held in a 32.5” x 40” beveled gold frame with red-trimmed black matting. Hardware attached makes it ready to hang. All signatures have been certified with a COA from James Spence Authentication (#B53050).
