American Don Schollander won four medals for swimming and Bob Hayes was crowned "World's fastest man" at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. This 2 ΒΌ" diameter dark copper medal was issued to participants at the 1964 games and depicts four stylized athletes on the front. The back shows the Olympic rings with the wording Tokyo 1964 XVIII Olympiad as well as some Japanese lettering on the back. Complete with the brown wood presentation box that the medal was originally issued in.
