24 pitchers have reached the 300-win milestone in all MLB history, 11 of them before 1925. Between 1924 and 1982, the club welcomed only three new members, Lefty Grove, Warren Spahn, and Early Wynn. Between 1982 and 1990, Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro, Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Don Sutton and Tom Seaver joined the hallowed ranks. In the last 23 years, only Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Randy Johnson have surpassed the threshold. This pristine, ash, 34-inch, Cooperstown Bat Co. Club Series bat bears a “Baseball’s 300 WIN! Club” insignia on the barrel. A red shield encircles the handle with “Club Series” written in black lettering. Nine members of MLB’s 300-Win Club have signed and inscribed the bat’s barrel with their names, number of career wins, and date of 300th win. The signatures include Early Wynn (“300/7-13-63”), Warren Spahn (“8/11/69 363”), Gaylord Perry (“314 5-6-82”), Steve Carlton (“9-23-83 329”), Tom Seaver (“311 8-4-85”), Phil Niekro (“318 10-6-85”), Don Sutton (“324 6-18-86”), Nolan Ryan (“324 7/31/90”), and Roger Clemens (“310 6-13-03”). All signatures are in blue Sharpie and it should be noted that Clemens signed this bat after the 2003 season when he had "retired". Clemens had 310 wins at that time. A COA from PSA/DNA (#T06704) accompanies this item.
