At the very end of his playing days, Pete Rose was doing double-duty as player/manager, occasionally penciling his own name into the lineup. Rose collected the last 52 of his 4,256 hits during the 1986 season, which is the labeling period for this Mizuno A.T.H.L. Pete Rose model bat. The contact area on the barrel has been sanded and the finish removed where grain swelling is revealed. Red bat rack marks are visible on the barrel where Rose has signed the bat in thick silver Sharpie with “Good Luck” inscription on the bat’s busiest contact area. The upper handle is wrapped in pine tar-coated adhesive tape. A number 4 stamped into the knob indicates the bat’s 34-inch length. PSA/DNA sticker (#1B05837) is affixed to the knob; come with full PSA/DNA letter of authenticity GU grading 9.
