One of the more interesting 19th century cards sets are the Buchner Gold Coins, color cards with generic player poses, often not even resembling the players they portray. Issue into Gold Coin tobacco pouches, the fact these color cards include all the major stars (many with a variety of poses) of the day keep the interest strong for this issue. This group of two cards includes Big Sam Thompson – Hand at Belt and John Ward – Fielding Grounder. Both of these Hall of Famer cards are encapsulated as SGC AUTHENTIC.
