Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. was in his 13th full season in 1994 where he was closing in on Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games’ streak. Ripken’s season only lasted 112 games due to the Major League Player’s Strike that wiped out the remaining games and the playoffs, but in those 112 games, Ripken still batted a solid .312 with 13 home runs and 75 RBI. Ripken used this Louisville Slugger P72 model bat during the 1994 season and hit his 304th career home run on June 12th, 1994 game during the Orioles 8-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Ripken’s home run came off Red Sox pitcher Greg Harris in the 6th inning and was the 7th of the 1994 season.

This bat displays outstanding game use with a slight crack on the handle. There are numerous ball marks, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel, along with cleat imprints. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the handle and Ripken has applied white tape around the center brand and added the inscription “HR 304 Harris v Bos”. Ripken has also added his signature in gold marker on the barrel with the inscription “HR. #304”. This incredible bat comes directly from Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this bat. There is also a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19667) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
