The Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. recorded one of his best seasons in 1999, batting .340 with 18 home runs in 86 games. In preparation for the games he would play in 1999, Ripken wore this black Orioles batting practice jersey. This pullover size 44 jersey with a V-Neck collar was manufactured by Rawlings and has “Orioles” and a paraph sewn on across the chest in orange tackle twill. The sleeves and torso are separated by an orange stripe. A black patch with “Rawlings” embroidered in orange is sewn on the left sleeve. The back of this jersey has Ripken’s number “8” sewn on in orange tackle twill. The red Rawlings size 44 tag is sewn on the inside left front tail. This jersey displays moderate use and Ripken has signed this shirt in contrasting silver marker along the paraph line on the front. This jersey comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this jersey.
