In the long and storied history of the New York Yankees, there might not have been two more dominant seasons than 1927 and 1928. Both teams won World Series titles with the 1927 team being widely regarded as one of the best teams of all-time. The 1927 squad were led by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, with the lineup being referred to as “Murderer’s Row”. Ruth set the home run standard, hitting a then-record of 60 – a record that would hold until 1961. The 1927 team finished with a 110 and 44 record and the 1928 team followed up with a 101 and 53 record and another four-game World Series sweep – this time against the St. Louis Cardinals.

This offered Official American League E.S. Barnard stamped baseball has four signatures of prominent members of the 1927 and 1928 New York Yankees. Babe Ruth’s bold and distinctive signature has been penned in black ink across the sweet spot. A pinnacle of any collector’s acquisition by itself, Ruth’s signature also is accompanied by the signatures of Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig on a side panel, along with the signature of Bob Meusel. Another panel has the bold black pen signature of Hall of Famer Herb Pennock. This ball displays toning, abrasion marks, but is an incredible relic from the historic Yankee championship teams of the late 1920’s. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A82390) for the signatures.
