His statistics and accolades are too numerous to mention – the name Michael Jordan quite simply resides among the most elite of sports legends. Before winning six titles in eight seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan quickly established himself as the premier scorer in the league that still included the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

During the 1986-87, his third in the league, Jordan for the first time led the NBA in scoring with a career-high 37.1 points per game average. Jordan would go on to win every ensuing scoring title in every full season he would play for the Bulls (save for the “I’m Back” 1995 return after his 1993 retirement). Jordan’s dominance also ushered in a new era of advertising as Jordan became the most marketed athlete of his generation. Wearing these size 13 Nike Air Jordan II sneakers, Michael Jordan poured in 50 points in the Chicago Bulls 114-107 road victory over division foe Milwaukee Bucks during the April 13th, 1987 game. Jordan’s scoring output was more than double the next leading scorer as his Bulls reached the .500 mark at 40-40 with the win.

These sneakers are white with red and black trim and show heavy game use with cracking and chipping from the faded black exteriors. Please note that there is loose and/or missing foam pieces, particularly in the heel of the left sneaker. The heels are red on the top and these low top sneakers have black laces, which appear to be original to the shoes. Jordan has signed his name in blue marker on the instep and toe and inscribed “To Jeff” to complete these impressive gamers. A great opportunity to own a pair of Jordan game used sneakers attributed to a 50-point game! These come with a letter of provenance from Jeffrey Kurtz, who states in his letter that these sneakers were gifted to him when he was 9-years-old through former Bulls coach Doug Collins, who was a friend of his family and that Collins had Jordan sign these shoes “To Jeff”. There is also a LOA from MEARS (317527) for the game use, attributing these sneakers to the April 13th, 1987 game, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Jordan’s signature.
