Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr.’s penultimate season in the Major League concluded on October 1st, 2000 when the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees 7-3 at Camden Yards. Ripken closed out his season in style, going 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored, an RBI and a walk to help lead the O’s to victory. Ripken would finish the 2000 season with 15 home runs, 56 RBI and a .256 average. Offered here is the full uniform (jersey, pants, undershirt and socks) that were worn by Ripken during that October 1, 2000 game. The first item is the Majestic size 50 button-down Orioles home white jersey that has “Orioles” and a paraph sewn on across the front in black and orange tackle twill. Ripken’s number “8” is sewn on below on the left chest in orange and black tackle twill with black piping running around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The back of the jersey has “RIPKEN” and “8” sewn on in black and orange tackle twill. The sleeves have black piping with the left sleeve having the Orioles bird logo patch. The Majestic tag with size 50 flag is sewn on the front left tail. This jersey displays heavy game use and Ripken has signed it on the front right center below the tip of the paraph in black marker.

The matching white pants have black piping on each side leg and were also made by Majestic. The Majestic tag, along with the team stripe tag that reads “8 RIPKEN 38-40 35 00” are sewn on the inside waist band. These pants display moderate to heavy game use. The next item is a size 2X Majestic black short sleeve undershirt. “Orioles” with a paraph is printed on the upper left chest in orange and white applique. The Majestic tag with size 2XL flag is sewn on the inside back collar. Ripken’s number “8” is handwritten in black marker on the tag. A blank white tag is sewn on the front left tail. The final items are a pair of long black socks. These socks are black with white tops that have “8” handwritten in black marker on each. All of these items come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany these items.
