Baseball’s Ironman and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. used this bat during the June 21st, 1995 game against the New York Yankees at Camden Yards in Baltimore. Cal went 1-for-4 in the game with a double off of Yankees’ starter Andy Pettitte in the bottom of the fourth inning. This Ripken-used Louisville Slugger P72 model bat shows outstanding game use with a slight crack on the handle. The barrel exhibits many ball marks that include white leather scuffs and blue ink transfers. There is a light coat of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel and both ends are scuffed from contact with the ground. A piece of white tape has been applied to the barrel upon which, “6-21-95 vs NY Wickman At Bat” has been written in black marker. Ripken faced Yankees’ pitcher Bob Wickman in the bottom of the 8th inning and grounded out to third base. Ripken has also signed this bat in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “6-21-95”. This bat comes from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this bat. There is also an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19758) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
