Hall of Famer and baseball’s Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. earned the first of his two American League MVP Awards in 1983 when he blasted 27 home runs and drove in 102 with a lofty .318 average while leading Baltimore to the World Series title. Ripken’s 1983 season saw him lead the AL in doubles with 47, runs with 121 and hits with 211. Ripken’s 200th hit of the 1983 season came during the September 24th game when he singled to right field off of Milwaukee Brewer’s pitcher Jaime Cocanower in the top of the 8th inning and presented here is the very ball Ripken hit to reach the 200-hit plateau of the 1983 season. This Official American League Lee Mac Phail stamped baseball comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and displays outstanding use. There are dirt stains present and Ripken has signed his name in bold blue pen a cross the sweet spot inscribing “1983 Hit #200” below. A great game used item from Cal’s MVP and World Series season that is attributed to his 200th hit. This comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
