Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. made Baltimore Orioles history when he connected on his 334th career home run during the May 29, 1996 game against the Seattle Mariners at the Kingdome. Ripken’s home run came in the top of the 7th inning against Mariner’s pitcher Sterling Hitchcock and with that round tripper, he became the Baltimore Orioles’ all-time home run leader – a list that includes Hall of Famers Eddie Murray and Brooks Robinson, along with Boog Powel and Rafael Palmeiro. Offered here is the very baseball Ripken hit for his milestone home run that put in the top sport for all-time home runs by an Oriole. This Official American League Gene A. Budig stamped baseball displays outstanding game use with a large abrasion mark across the sweet spot and other dirt marks. Ripken has signed his name in blue pen across the sweet spot and has added fine-tipped blue marker inscriptions on the north panel that read “334th career Homerun off Hitchcock at Seattle on May 29, 1996.” This ball comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA will accompany this milestone baseball.
