2020 Holiday Auction Closing December 12-13
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/12/2020
This Louisville Slugger P72 model bat comes directly from the personal collection of Hall of Famer and baseball’s Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. This bat dates to the 1991-97 season and displays outstanding game use. This bat has a slight crack on the barrel as a result from the numerous ball marks, white leather scuffs, blue ink transfers and the checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact. All of these marks are clearly visible on this barrel including a distinct Rawlings cushioned cork just to the north of the Louisville Slugger trademark on the lower barrel. Cal has marked this bat as “All Star Game Bat” on in blue pen on a 1 ½-inch thick piece of white athletic tape that wraps around the middle of the barrel. You would be hard pressed to find a more complete game used bat from the great Cal Ripken, Jr. and Cal has recently signed this bat in bold silver marker on the barrel. This comes directly from Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this bat. Additionally, there is a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24165) for the game use.
