Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. made his fifth consecutive All-Star Game in 1987. The former American League Rookie of the Year and MVP used this Rawlings/Adirondack CR8 model bat during the 1987 Mid-Summer Classic played at Oakland’s Alameda County Stadium. In a classic pitching duel, the National League won 2-0 thanks to a 2-run triple by Hall of Famer Tim Raines in the top of the 13th. Ripken himself had a hit in two at-bats. Ripken’s bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, blue and red ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. The barrel has the “CAL RIPKEN JR. 1987 ALLSTAR GAME” stamping in white. The bat’s model number “CR8” along with “CR” is stamped on the knob, while “33 ½” is handwritten in blue pen on the knob. Recently, Cal has signed his name in bold silver marker on the barrel and inscribed "1987 ALL STAR GAME". This bat comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA will accompany this bat.
