Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. used this all-black Louisville Slugger P72 model bat during the 1996 MLB All-Star Game played at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. The National League, led by Hall of Famer Mike Piazza, defeated the American League 6-0 in what would be their last victory until 2010. This bat comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and displays excellent game use. This un-cracked bat has some ball marks and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. The lower handle has a light coating of pine tar and Ripken has applied a piece of athletic tape along the barrel and wrote “Game Bat All Star Game 96 Philad” in blue marker. Ripken has also signed the barrel of this bat in bold contrasting silver marker and inscribed “1996 ALL STAR GAME” below. This bat comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr., along with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24145) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
