In the two seasons that Hall of Famer and baseball’s Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. used this Louisville Slugger P72 bat in 1993 and 1994, he averaged 18 home runs and 82 RBI while maintaining a healthy .281 average. This bat also was used to shoot Ripken’s “Got Milk” photo shoot from June 28th, 1996 which featured the icon holding this bat over his right shoulder while holding the handle with his left hand. Ripken is holding a glass of milk in his right hand with a milk mustache. The add reads “With all the milk I drink, my name might as well be Calcium Ripken, Jr. Really, I’m a huge milk fan. Besides being loaded with calcium, there’s nothing like it when it’s ice cold. Which is why I drink the recommended 3 glasses a day. And as you’d probably guess, I’m not one to miss a day.”

The bat is impressive alone with it’s outstanding game use. This un-cracked bat has numerous ball marks, white leather scuffs, blue ink transfers and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. There is a coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel area and Ripken’s number “8” is handwritten on the knob in black marker. A truly wonderful gamer from two of Ripken’s solid seasons and used for his famous “Got Milk” ad campaign. This bat has recently been signed and inscribed "Got Milk" in gold marker by Cal and comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this famous bat. Also, a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B24115) for the game use also accompanies this bat and PSA/DNA has given this bat a very high grade of GU 9.5.
